Meet the faces behind the story
These are real people — and we hope you’d like to spend an evening with them. Get to know the cast and crew of Grants of Glen Grant, the heart and soul of our show. We aim to radiate warmth, trust, joy, authenticity, and a sense of belonging. We're excited to share our story with you at the Edinburgh Fringe!

Good people, telling a good story
The spirit of The Grants of Glen Grant is best described as warm, proud, generous, genuine, and joyful. We are a community-spirited, good-humoured, and welcoming group, grounded and full of heart. We're authentic, inclusive, and full of life, and we can't wait to share our production with you.

Kathleen "Kangy" Henderson
Kathleen is the writer and director of the show and responsible for bringing this rag tag bunch of aspiring actors together to tell her story in a most compelling way. She has a deep personal connection to the story of The Grants of Glen Grant having grown up in Rothes, and her family having a long association with the distillery. Her favourite moment in the show is when the entire cast join in the final chorus. She hopes audiences will feel that they have been truly part of a genuine and authentic performance.

Matthew Hamilton
James Grant and Major Douglas Mackessack
The multi talented Matthew Hamilton is a real shining light in the show playing the young and older James Grant and also Major Douglas Mackessack. Currently studying in Manchester, Matthew is making his Fringe debut, and looks forward to bringing a wee bit of Speyside to the capital. He hopes audiences will feel welcomed and entertained.

The Team
The Grants of Glen Grant is performed by a community cast from Rothes and Speyside, supported by a volunteer crew of friends and family. It's a true family and community effort, on stage and behind the scenes. Full credits are available in our programme, and we'll be rotating individual spotlights on our social media channels, so stay tuned! We are proud to bring our story to the Fringe!
